The meteorological department has made predictions for the occurrence of Srikar in the month of Shravan in Gujarat. Heavy rain has been predicted in the state for the next two days. Orange alert has been declared in 8 districts and yellow alert in 7 districts of Gujarat. Orange alert has been given in three districts of South Gujarat. Rain may occur in some areas of North Gujarat on August 17. Heavy rains are forecast over Kutch, Amreli and Gir Somnath as a well marked low pressure has activated over the Arabian Sea. However, after August 17, the rain may disappear, so there are indications that there will be no rainfall in the Seventh Eighth Fair after two years.

Rains in more than 178 talukas in Gujarat today
Heavy rains are falling in many areas in Gujarat. Especially in some areas of Saurashtra, there has been heavy rain. Sutrapada and Kodinar taluka areas of Gir-Somnath district have received heavy rainfall. Due to which many areas have been flooded. It has been raining in a total of 178 talukas in the state since morning. Then 6 inches of rain has been recorded in Vyara, 4.5 inches in Umarpada and 4 inches in Bardoli. Dolwan and Meghraj have received 3.5 inches of rain, Mandvi has received 3 inches of rain.

• 2.5 in Mahuva and Subir, 2.25 in Navsari
• 2.15 in Uchchal and Satlasana, 2 inches in Dang
• Surat city, Nizar, Sagbara received 2 inches of rain each 
• Jalalpore, Waghai, Mangrol received one and a half inches of rain
• Dharampur and Vadgam received one and a half inches of rain 
• Modasa, Khergam, Dholka, Dholera, Dhanera, eighty-four, quarter inch in Vansada 
• One inch in Kukarmunda, one inch in Rajula, one inch in Santrampur 
• Less than an inch of rain in 145 talukas of the state

Heavy rains in Rajkot

Rajkot district has also experienced torrential rains in the area. In Rajkot city, low-lying areas were flooded due to heavy rains in Mawdi area, while Hemu Garhvi Hall area was also flooded. On the other hand, it was the turn of the motorists to face great difficulty as the water receded on Kalavad Road, Yagnik Road as well.
