
Due to the festival of Diwali, the rush of passengers towards Saurashtra starts increasing. ST Nigam has also decided to run additional 2300 buses from October 19 to 24. Meanwhile, the fare of private buses from Surat to Saurashtra has increased drastically.
Surat has a large number of people coming from Sourashtra for business or employment. However, during the festive season, these people prefer to go to their hometown. Especially when the number of tourists going to Saurashtra is very high, the private bus fares from Surat to Saurashtra have seen a sudden surge.
Increase in bus fares due to train bookings In
Surat, bus fares have doubled compared to trains due to train bookings. The fare of non AC buses from Surat has reached 1500 to 2000 rupees. While the fare of AC buses is being charged as high as 3 thousand. If we look at the private bus fares going to Saurashtra during Diwali festival, non AC Surat-Rajkot bus fare is charging Rs.1200.
If Surat-Bhavnagar AC bus fare reaches Rs.2 thousand
then AC bus fare from Surat to Rajkot is charged Rs.1500. Surat-Bhavnagar AC bus fare has reached Rs.2000 thousand. Also, the non-AC bus fare from Surat to Bhavnagar is being charged 1400 rupees. Whereas AC bus fare from Surat to Indore is Rs.3000. So 2000 is being charged for non AC bus fare.
Decision to run additional buses
It may be mentioned here that the State Road Transport Department has decided to run additional buses during the festive season, so that the passengers do not have to face any hardship during the festivals. ST Corporation has decided to run additional 2300 buses to meet the rush of tourists during the upcoming Diwali festival.
About 1550 buses will be run from Surat division out of which about 1550
Additional buses will be run from Surat division. While 700 additional buses will be run from Ahmedabad section as well. S. that additional management will be done especially for Saurashtra, Panchmahal, Dahod, Godhra. T. Corporation Officer K. d. Desai said.
