On the fifth day of the Commonwealth Games, India has bagged 4 medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. The Indian men's table tennis team won the gold by defeating Singapore 3-1 in the table tennis final. From India, Harmeet Desai and G Sathian won the doubles match and gave India a great start.

Harmeet was interested in table tennis since childhood, father turned coach Harmeet started playing table tennis
at the age of a five and a half . In two-and-a-half years, he started shining at the state and then national level. Harmeet's interest in table tennis was recognized by his father. He started paying attention to Harmeet's game. Harmeet used to play table tennis with father Rajul Desai and brother Hriday Desai . For 14 years his father was his coach and elder brother was adding passion to Harmeet as a practice partner.
After working 4 hours a day on fitness,
Harmeet got a chance to go out for international level competitions. At the age of 15, he went to Sweden and started receiving international training from there. Along with playing, Harmeet pays special attention to physical fitness. He works for three to four hours daily on fitness. Rafal Nadal is his role model in the sports world. He likes Shah Rukh Khan in Bollywood and Narendra Modi in politics.
