Commercial LPG cylinder rates have come down from October 1. Find out how much has been reduced and what are the current prices

Despite the record rise in natural gas prices, LPG cylinder prices have come down today on October 1, not in domestic gas cylinder prices but in commercial LPG cylinder rates. A 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has become cheaper by Rs 25.50 in the capital Delhi from today. Apart from this, prices have come down in many cities. The price of commercial LPG cylinders also fell on the first of last month. New LPG cylinder rates have been announced today. 

How much has decreased in Delhi?

On 1 October 2022, the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder of Indane in Delhi has been reduced by Rs 25.50. While the prices of commercial LPG cylinders have decreased by Rs 36.50 in Kolkata, Rs 32.50 in Mumbai and Rs 35.50 in Chennai. After this reduction, a commercial LPG cylinder of 19 kg will be available at the level of Rs 1859.50 in the capital Delhi from today. 

Commercial LPG prices in metros Commercial 

LPG cylinders will be available in Kolkata at Rs 1,995.50, cheaper by Rs 36.50 from today. Similarly in Mumbai its price is Rs. 1,844 down to Rs. 35.50 to Rs. has come to 1811.50. A commercial LPG cylinder has become cheaper by Rs 35.50 in Chennai. LPG cylinder prices are fixed on the 1st of every month. Commercial LPG cylinders are mostly used in the hotels and restaurants.

Natural gas prices rise 

Natural gas prices have risen by a record 40%. The increased rates will be applicable from 1 October, which will remain in effect till 31 March 2023. CNG and PNG prices are expected to increase due to the steep hike in natural gas rates. 

According to the order of the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum, the price of a unit of natural gas has increased to $8.57 from $6.1 (roughly Rs. 500 per unit) at present. (Rs. 700 approx) per unit. Just as the unit of crude oil is measured in barrels per barrel, the unit of natural gas is 'British thermal units per million'
