It will now be an easy to get police clearance certificate for a passport. The Modi government has allowed police clearance certificate to be obtained at the online Post Office Passport Seva Kendra , due to which the citizens who want to go abroad will get a big relief. Union Ministry of External Affairs has decided to add Police Clearance Certificate application facility at all Online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras across India from 28 September 2022 to address the huge rush for Police Clearance Certificates. This was stated in a statement issued by the Ministry of an External Affairs .

The demand for education, long-term visa, immigration including employment abroad will be met

What is Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)?

Indian passport holders are an issued a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) in the cases where they have applied for residential status, employment or long-term visa or immigration. People going abroad on tourist visa do not get PCC.
